General Information

Hilltop Christian Nursery School is a ministry of the Evangelical Free Church of Hershey in Hershey, Pennsylvania.  The nursery school consists of five classrooms that are located on two levels of the church building.  Hilltop was started in 1979.

Schedule

The classroom structure for each day consists of free choice time, circle time, story time, large motor activity, creative art activities, and snack times.  The three, four, and five year old programs exphasize specific age-appropriate learning skillls.

Each month an academic concept, Bible verse, and color of the month are emphasized.  Class parties and special events are specified on the monthly calendar that is sent home.  Parents are invited to share in these experiences.  Click here to look at our events calendar to see what is happening soon at Hilltop.

Bi-yearly parent teacher evaluations aid in the development and direction of the children.

Administration

The classroom staff will consist of a teacher and a teacher's assistant with no more than 16 students.  A director supervises the staff.  The school is administered by an executive council consisting of church members and assisted by the Parent Advisory Council.  The nursery school operates under the authority of the Board of Elders of the Evangelical Free Church of Hershey.

Parent Advisory Council

The role of the council is to:

• Implement and suggest fund-raising projects for the school. 
• Offer suggestions for improvement and enhancement of services to children and their families.
• Interact with other parents and bring to the council: suggestions for improvement and areas of concern.
• Host various school events such as back to school receptions, parent orientation coffees, end of the year receptions and any other special events the school may be providing throughout the year.
